Session Title

DevSecOps in practices - Finding a sweet spot between velocity, stability and security

Abstract

For engineering team, velocity of product development is of paramount importance towards end user satisfaction and revenue growth of the organization. Engineers are expected to be able to release code quickly to production, sometime even multiple times in day. However, reliability of the software systems also cannot be compromised – otherwise the benefits of rapid product development is quickly lost. It is also of equal or more importance to ensure that the software system maintains the highest level of security standards expected by the users to protect organization from significant risks of financial, reputational and regulatory.

The objectives of velocity on one hand and stability and security on the other seems to have a conflicting demand on engineering bandwidth. In this talk, we would like to discuss on certain aspects of DevOps practice and metrics that helps in achieving and maintaining a fine balance among these seemingly conflicting objectives.
